No one was injured in a vehicle accident that caused minor damages to a Williamsburg-James City County School bus Thursday afternoon.

A spokesperson with the James City County Police Department said 73-year-old James Broady was driving on Olde Towne Road and turned onto Longhill Road around 1:10 p.m. when he pulled into the lane of traffic and hit the school bus, which was empty except for the driver.

Authorities said the total damage to both the Toyota Corolla Broady was driving and the school bus was between $1,500 and $2,000, with the majority of the damage found on Broady’s vehicle.

A Williamsburg-James City County School Division spokesperson said the bus received minor front bumper damage on the passenger side.

Broady was charged with failure to yield the right of way.
