The following government offices and businesses will be closed during the Christmas holiday:
James City County
- James City County offices, the James City County Recreation Center and Abram Frink Jr. Community Center and public libraries will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
- The Williamsburg-James City County courthouse will close at noon Christmas Eve and will reopen Monday.
- The convenience centers will also close at noon Christmas Eve and will remain closed Thursday.
- The garbage transfer station will be closed Thursday.
York County
- The Virginia Cooperative Extension will close at noon Christmas Eve and remain closed until Saturday.
- County offices, York-Poquoson General District Court, York-Poquoson Social Services, the Waste Management Center administrative offices and York County libraries will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
- The York-Poquoson Circuit Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court will be closed today and remain closed until Dec. 29.
- The transfer station and recycling drop off facility will be closed Christmas Day.
- The VPPSA compost facility will close at noon Christmas Eve and remain closed Friday.
Williamsburg
- City offices and the Quarterpath Recreation Center will be closed Thursday and Friday.
- Quarterpath Recreation Center will close at 4:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve and reopen Monday.
- Waller Mill park will close one hour earlier at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and remain closed until Friday.
Virginia Peninsula Public Service Authority
- Recycling normally scheduled for Thursday will be collected Friday, and recycling normally collected Friday will be collected Saturday.
Thomas Nelson Community College
- The college’s Williamsburg and Hampton campuses will be closed from Christmas Eve through Jan. 5.
