A 23-year-old woman who pleaded guilty to breaking into a York County home received a lesser charge and a suspended sentence Thursday.
Keisha Joidae Johnson, a resident of Newport News, entered into a plea agreement that called for a grand larceny charge against her to be amended to a felony receiving stolen goods charge. A burglary charge was also dropped Thursday.
She was sentenced to five years in prison with all five years suspended. She is also forbidden from having any contact with any of the burglary victims involved in her case.
She is also convicted of grand larceny and conspiracy to commit grand larceny for a March burglary in Williamsburg.
York-Poquoson Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Dennis McLaughlin said Johnson was “extremely helpful and did her job fully” when she testified during a hearing for co-conspirator Larry Coney Jr., who is charged with receiving stolen goods for the same offense.
McLaughlin said it was fair Johnson be given the same amended charge as Coney.
Johnson was arrested in April for allegedly breaking into a home in the Penniman East subdivision in Upper York County with Coney.
Electronics and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen from a home in the 100 block of Old Hollow Road during the April 21 break-in.
Johnson told investigators some of the stolen items were pawned, according to a York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office wanted poster.
Johnson also pleaded guilty to grand larceny charges in connection with the Williamsburg burglary. She testified during a preliminary hearing for Coney that she was “solely the driver” during the alleged break-in that occurred in Williamsburg’s Port Anne subdivision.

She told a Williamsburg-James City County district judge Coney had knocked on two or three doors before going into a small house for 10 to 15 minutes.
Johnson said while she was waiting for Coney, she got out of the vehicle to speak with a Mary Kay consultant she saw in the street.
The alleged victim in the Williamsburg robbery said a web camera and a microphone were missing from her home. She said she came home to a shattered garage door window and a lock on the door leading from the garage to the house that was beaten in.
Johnson will receive a sentence for the Williamsburg burglary at 9 a.m. Dec. 17.
Coney will face a grand jury for the Williamsburg and York County charges separately. His York County case will be considered at 9 a.m. Nov. 18, and his Williamsburg case will be considered at 1 p.m. Dec. 5.
