Historic Triangle Fire Departments Participating in Fire Prevention Week

Fire departments in the Historic Triangle are opening their doors to citizens for Fire Prevention Week.

James City County Fire Department and York County Fire Department are partnering to bring fire and life safety education to the public Saturday. Officials from the two departments will be in the parking lot of Home Depot on Mooretown Road from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, providing games, prizes, fire trucks, Sparky the Fire Dog, the Safe House, giveaways and fire prevention information.

In addition, the York County Fire Department and the Williamsburg Fire Department are hosting open houses in their respective fire houses Oct. 5 and Oct. 11.

Citizens can meet first responders, tour fire stations and learn about fire and life safety.

Williamsburg will be offering equipment demos, car safety seat inspections, face painting and more.

In York County:

  • Grafton Fire Station – 5751 George Washington Memorial Highway, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 5
  • Bruton Fire Station – 114 Hubbard Lane, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 11

In Williamsburg:

  • Williamsburg Fire Station – 440 North Boundary St. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 11
