
Three businesses have officially marked their opening Yorktown’s Shady Banks Shopping Center.
Thai Erawan Restaurant, Union Brothers Detroit Style Pizza and State Farm Insurance all celebrated ribbon-cuttings on July 31 at the complex off Hampton Highway, southeast of its intersection with Big Bethel Road.
Thai Erawan Restaurant, opened in December, is family-owned by Suphat Intrasamratana and Benjamard Best. They also own Thai Siam, a restaurant in the Washington Square Shopping Center on Route 17.
Scott Wilco owns Union Brothers Detroit Style Pizza, which started serving in February. The family business claims to be the first in the area to serve the variety of pizza originating in Detroit.
Che Henderson is the agent at State Farm Insurance’s newest location, which is managed by Dwight Henderson. The business opened July 1.
Don Wiggins, York County Board of Supervisors Chair, and Tim Meyer, past president and board member of the York County Chamber of Commerce, participated in the ribbon-cutting events.
