A new cupcake shop has officially marked its start in James City County.
Smallcakes: A Cupcakery, located at Suite 120 in Settler’s Market, celebrated a ribbon cutting and official grand opening July 16.
The franchise store is owned by Patrick and Leah Polowichak. The Polowichak family returned to life in Williamsburg from Georgia to manage the store, which offers more than 130 flavors of cupcakes.
Cupcakes are made fresh every day, with rotating flavors paired with a signature 12 varieties.
The company, started in 2009, was founded by Food Network Cupcake Wars contestant Jeff Martin. It has more than 75 stores across the country.
The James City County location of Smallcakes opened June 28 in the location, one of 10 businesses coming to Monticello Avenue’s retail corridor.
