A 56-year-old York County man charged last week with inappropriately touching a teenage boy over the course of two years has been charged with several more crimes after investigators identified a second boy who may have been targeted.

Thomas G. Seifert was arrested June 26, the same day the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office received a report implicating him in the abuse of one of the boys alleged to have occurred between May 2010 and January 2012. He allegedly committed the abuse at his home on Meadowfield Road in the Edgehill subdivision and at that subdivision’s swimming pool, where he spent five years volunteering as the manager of the snack bar.

YPSO deputies announced Tuesday Seifert has been charged with 10 more felonies after investigators alleged he abused a second boy, identifying the same two locations as places where the abuse occurred, according to a post on YPSO’s Facebook page.

The incidents allegedly occurred over four to five years, continuing into early 2014, according to the post.

Seifert has been around juveniles in numerous organizations, including the Boy Scouts, according to the post. YPSO Lt. Dennis Ivey declined to identify any of the other organizations as investigators have not yet found evidence he abused children in any of those groups. He also declined to identify the Boy Scout troop where Seifert served as an assistant troop leader, citing privacy concerns for the alleged victims.

Ivey said there may be additional victims. He urged them to step forward and contact Crime Line at 888-LOCK-U-UP.

The investigation into Seifert is ongoing. He may face additional charges, according to the post. He faces 14 felony counts of taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory relationship.
