The York County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to keep their salaries stable for the next year.

Each member of the board will receive $9,000 for their service from July 1 through the end of June 2015. The chairman, currently Don Wiggins, will receive an additional $1,800 while the vice chairman, currently Thomas Shepperd, will receive $900. New officers will be elected in January.

A public hearing was held prior to the vote, however nobody spoke. The supervisors’ vote came after little discussion amongst the board.

“This is the same salary we have now,” Wiggins said. “Nobody is getting a raise.”

The board is required by the Code of Virginia to consider annually what its members are paid.

The supervisors’ salaries in York County match those of the James City County Board of Supervisors. In Williamsburg, City Council members receive a salary of $7,200, while the mayor receives $9,600.
