A 21-year-old James City County man is facing charges after a woman told police he pointed a gun at her and her boyfriend and then damaged her boyfriend’s car due to jealousy about their relationship.
The 21-year-old woman reported to police that 21-year-old Thomas Anthony Drake of James City County approached her and her 20-year-old boyfriend at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of the restaurant where she worked with Drake on the 700 block of Scotland Street, said Maj. Greg Riley of the Williamsburg Police Department.
Drake allegedly pointed a black handgun at both of them and then began kicking a car belonging to the boyfriend, dealing about $3,000 in damage to the vehicle, Riley said.
On Friday, Drake allegedly broke the tail lights on a vehicle belonging to the boyfriend on the 1000 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue. He has been charged with two counts of brandishing a firearm, two counts of assault, two counts of recklessly handling a firearm and one count of carrying a concealed weapon, all misdemeanors.
Nobody was hurt during the incident. Riley said it is uncertain how many times the car was kicked.
