Kero Asian Grill at Riverwalk Landing Closes

KeroAGKero Asian Grill at Riverwalk Landing has closed.

Owner Kingston Tung said he has not received the business he wanted since last summer’s opening. The restaurant closed last week.

“Business is business, and if you aren’t earning money at a location, you close down,” Tung said.

The restaurant’s other location at the Village Square Shopping Center in Tabb remains open. He said that location should be able to absorb the employees from Riverwalk Landing.

The loss of Kero Asian Grill has created a vacancy at the otherwise fully occupied development. To get Kero up and running, Tung installed a triple-wash sink, a drain line and some other improvements to the space required by law. Those improvements will remain with the building.

York County Director of Economic Development Jim Noel said an agreement was worked out with Tung to allow him to vacate the premises despite the presence of a lease, which was in effect for another two-and-a-half years. Noel said his office is in talks with a potential tenant about filling the space.

Tung told WYDaily in 2012 he was inspired to open at Riverwalk Landing after regular customers at the Village Square restaurant suggested Yorktown as a potential spot for a second location.
