James City County’s Office of Housing and Community Development is offering a free class for first-time homebuyers in early May.
Citizens who are currently purchasing a home or considering purchasing a home will learn about personal finances, credit, qualifying for a loan, what happens at closing and more. Mortgage companies require many applicants to complete a class prior to being approved for a loan. Participants who attend both sessions will receive a completion certificate.
The class takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. May 6 and 8 at William E. Wood & Associates Realtors at 5208 Monticello Ave. in New Town. Registration for the class closes May 5, and space is limited.
