A 71-year-old Lackey man was not hurt after a man broke into his home, assaulted him and then fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
The break-in occurred around 9:45 p.m. Feb. 20 on the 200 block of Barham Boulevard. Capt. Troy Lyons of the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said the 71-year-old was asleep when the man broke in. He woke up and was assaulted in his bedroom. The assailant was believed to be unarmed.
YPSO was not able to offer a physical description of the assailant. The case remains under investigation.
