Author William E. Johnson will speak at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Yorktown Library in a free event open to the public.
Johnson, a Mathews County resident, is known for the critically acclaimed non-fiction title “A School in Pennsylvania.” The book explores trends in American education over the past 30 years and what they mean in an international context. His short story “The Death of Redemption” won an award for adult fiction at the 15th annual Chesapeake Bay Writers Conference.
He is also known for “A Silent Tide,” a novel about a murder of an all-state athlete in Mathews County and the trial of the man accused of committing the crime.
He is a longtime lawyer who was featured as the defense attorney on the CBS program “48 Hours Mystery-The Taylor Behl Murder.” Visit his official website here.
