Lakeside Drive in York County is closed to through traffic this weekend as Virginia Department of Transportation contractor crews continue to work on the Lakeside Drive Improvement Project.
Residents who live within the closed area will have access to their homes at all times. From 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, crews will install concrete storm sewer pipe in the area.
The detours will be as follows:
Westbound traffic on Lakeside Drive:
Turn left onto Showalter Road
Turn right onto Ella Taylor Road
Follow to George Washington Memorial Highway (Route 17)
Eastbound traffic on Lakeside Drive:
Take Route 17 to Ella Taylor Road
Turn left onto Showalter Road
Follow to Lakeside Drive
The work depends on weather conditions. Signs will be placed to alert drivers of the detour and road closure.
