Juvenile Services Program Specialist Carrie Crosby was recognized at a recent Board of Supervisors meeting for 25 years of service to York County.

Crosby works with first-time offenders who have been ordered by the courts to perform community service work. Her position requires overseeing the educational component of that work. She has worked with hundreds of young people over her career.

“Carrie has demonstrated commitment and professionalism,” said Community Services Director Laurie Coleman in a news release from York County. “We are justifiably proud of our services for young people and Carrie has contributed significantly to the continuing success of the Project Insight Program.”

Applications Now Being Accepted for Library Board of Trustees

The York County Board of Supervisors recently approved a contract with the Williamsburg Regional Library with the aim of allowing upper county citizens access to library services — the contract stipulates a York County member on the Board of Trustees.

The job requires two to three hours per month to prepare for and hold meetings. Responsibilities include hiring the library’s director, evaluating the performance on an annual basis, reviewing and approving a budget for operations, overseeing expenditures of library money and establishing library policies.

Anyone interested in applying for the job should visit the County Administrator’s Office at 224 Ballard St. or click here.
