A section of Jolly Pond Road will close Oct. 22 to allow dam repairs. The James City Clean County Commission announced the winners of the fall 2013 Good Neighbor Environment Matching Grant program. Read on for more.
Jolly Pond Road to Close for Dam Repairs
A section of Jolly Pond Road will temporarily close Oct. 22 to allow needed repairs to Jolly Pond Road Dam.
Technical Foundations Inc. crews will perform the needed repairs, which are indirectly related to recent work on the dam face. Internal dam repairs will be made by injecting grout into the dam to fill voids and replace porous areas, which will prevent water seepage through the dam. Water seepage can cause dam failure.
Work is expected to be completed, with Jolly Pond Road reopening to traffic, by Oct. 25. For more information, call 757-259-4117.
