Lt. Dennis Ivey of the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said at about 11:50 p.m. Friday a man entered the hotel, located near Victory Boulevard, and spoke with the clerk for a few minutes about renting a room for a week before he jumped over the counter and robbed the clerk at gunpoint.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled the hotel through the front door, according to the police report. He was seen running toward Regal Cinemas Kiln Creek Stadium 20 Movie Theater.

The suspect is a black male who wore a black and red cap, a black hoodie with red trim, black pants and black shoes. He wore the hood up on the hoodie. His gun was a black and gray semi-automatic handgun. Ivey said no video footage of the suspect is available at this time.
