A James City County man was arrested in Williamsburg and charged with felony strangulation Sunday after police responded to a domestic violence call on the 1500 block of Ernestine Avenue around 2:30 a.m.
This is the second strangulation charge within a week for 25-year-old Brandon O’Neil Jackson. He was also charged with the offense April 14 in James City County.
Maj. Greg Riley of the Williamsburg Police Department said Jackson was taken into custody Sunday after the 21-year-old victim in the Williamsburg case identified Jackson as her assailant. She had several minor injuries, including a laceration on her knee, a knot on her head and scratches on her neck. She was treated by medics at the scene and was not taken to the hospital.
Jackson was arrested and taken to the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail without bond. Riley said bond was denied to Jackson because of a domestic incident last week. The victim in both cases was listed as a 21-year-old female who is the mother of Jackson’s child, though it is unknown if it’s the same woman in both cases.
Maj. Stephen Rubino of the James City County Police Department said Jackson was arrested April 14 after an incident at the 100 block of Lafayette Boulevard. The victim was sitting in a car when Jackson allegedly punched her in the face and strangled her.
The child is in the victim’s custody, Rubino said.
