James City County Police are investigating after money, GPS devices and other electronics were stolen from almost a dozen unlocked vehicles in the Powhatan Crossing neighborhood over the weekend.
Sometime between 6 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday, the items were taken from the vehicles, said Maj. Stephen Rubino of the James City County Police Department. Other vehicles in the area were entered without anything being taken, though the contents of their cabins were left in disarray.
Most of the vehicles were on Powhatan Crossing, the main street in the subdivision, or Hunter’s Ridge, a road that branches off Powhatan Crossing. None of the vehicles sustained any damage, Rubino said. All the vehicles were unlocked.
