Chesapeake Experience, a nonprofit committed to environmental education, moved its headquarters to Eco Discovery Park on Feb. 1.
“Our new location is a benefit to us in many ways,” said Jill Bieri, executive director of Chesapeake Experience, in a news release. “It gives us direct access to Powhatan Creek, where we do teacher workshops, summer camps and guided paddling tours, and it puts us onsite with Eco Discovery Park, which has an environmental mission like ours.”
The new headquarters has an office and classroom, as well as two aquaria with oyster bed habitats.
“Our missions are the same – to educate people on nature and the environment. What [Chesapeake Experience] is doing ties in with what we’re trying to do. We’re happy they’re here,” said Steve Rose, Eco Discovery Park president, in the release.
