A grand opening event for the Settlers Market shopping center will take place at 9:30 a.m. May 3.
“Because stores are opening kind of per their own schedule, this will be at a time that we can celebrate the major stores are opening,” said Howard Biel, a partner at Westmoreland Partners LLC, one of the groups responsible for developing Settlers Market.
At the time of the grand opening, two rectangular buildings on Casey Boulevard will be under construction. One building will include the future Noodles and Company location.
Next to the Noodles and Company building will be a nearly 12,000 square-foot building that will be the future home of Petco. It was unclear whether Petco would close its store in the Mooretown Road shopping center that formerly was anchored by Ukrop’s. Calls to Petco were not returned.
Another building across Casey Boulevard from Petco is under final negotiations, and Biel said he was not yet ready to release information about the business.
Almost every space, with the exception of the large anchor building next to Stein Mart and one smaller space, is under lease negotiation.
Five Below will open April 26 and there are plans for an opening day event, which have not been released.
Biel said Dressbarn would open today.
Ulta will celebrate its grand opening March 22. The store will be open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. and fliers are being mailed out to customers.
Biel said he hopes by the end of the year all the commercial spaces in Settlers Market will be occupied with the exception of the large anchor store next to Stein Mart.
Once Settlers Market is fully completed, there will also be two sections of townhomes on either side of Casey Boulevard at the intersection with Settlers Market Boulevard. Biel said negotiations are ongoing with a developer.
