Pavilion at Williamsburg Place Welcomes New Executive Director

Chris Ruble

Pavilion at Williamsburg Place welcomed a new member to their executive leadership team: Chris Ruble has begun work as executive director.

Ruble has worked in executive leadership in behavioral healthcare for 15 years. He comes to Williamsburg Place from Newport News Behavioral Health Center, where he served as an executive officer. He also served as director of business development, chief operating officer and eventually chief executive officer at Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare in Staunton.

Ruble said he got his start in behavioral health during his time as a pastoral student in youth ministry.

“I’m a people person,” Ruble said. “I care very much about people. They’re the greatest resource the world has. That’s the way I look at this business. The folks that are coming here and the folks that work here deserve the best.”

After a brief foray into law enforcement — where Ruble served as a police officer and handled canines — he got into behavioral health and hasn’t looked back.

“His leadership is going to be instrumental for paving the way for behavioral health in our community,” said Gina Throne, the director of Business Development at the Farley Center.

Ruble moved to Williamsburg with his family four years ago.

The Pavilion at Williamsburg Place is a 57-bed, 33,500 square foot inpatient psychiatric facility that offers a range of treatment services from withdrawal to the care of older adults. It’s part of the campus of Williamsburg Place, which is also home to the Farley Center, which treats addictions, and The Villages, a semi-private living space for people in recovery.
