York Men Sentenced on Meth Charges

Two York County men who pleaded guilty last May to buying ingredients to manufacture methamphetamine were sentenced Monday in federal court.

According to a statement from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, United States District Judge Mark S. Davis sentenced Patrick Dubois, who is 57, to 12 years and eight months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. Patrick Dubois’ nephew, 36-year-old Glenn Dubois, was sentenced to 16 years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

Investigators from the Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration executed search warrants on five locations in James City and York counties on December 15, 2011. Those searches produced “significant evidence of methamphetamine manufacturing,” according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

According to court documents, a total of nine men and women were involved in the manufacturing of methamphetamine between those five locations, traveling together to purchase pseudoephedrine at multiple locations over an extended period. Glenn and Patrick Dubois admitted to buying pseudoephedrine for the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine and in fact manufactured methamphetamine over the course of 2011.

All who were charged have pleaded guilty. York County residents Lori Dennis, 31, and Amy Savage, 44, were sentenced to 66 and 70 months in prison, respectively. Richard Savage, 65 and also of York County, was sentenced to serve 70 months.

Awaiting sentencing are the following James City County resident: David Black, 56, and Sheri Black, 56, scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 1; Mitchell Jacobs, Sr. 56, is scheduled for sentencing on Jan. 28; and Heidi McMahon, 48, of scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 27.
