The Jamestown-Scotland Ferry will run at reduced capacity through tomorrow night following emergency maintenance on the “Pocahontas,” one of the three ferry boats in service.
The “Williamsburg” and “Virginia” boats will continue to provide service across the James River on the normal schedule, though Virginia Department of Transportation officials expect service to be diminished by approximately 50 vehicles per hour, according to a press release from VDOT.
Motorists should expect delays. VDOT recommends using the I-664 Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel or the Route 17 James River Bridge. For more information, call the VDOT Traffic Information Line at 361-3016 or the ferry hotline, which is available 24 hours a day, at 1-800-VAFERRY.
