
Journalist and author Bob Woodward will speak at The College of William & Mary on Nov. 5.
Woodward, a reporter for The Washington Post since 1971, is best known for his work with Carl Bernstein to uncover the Watergate scandal that led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon.
Woodward will speak at 8 p.m., but doors will open at 7 p.m., Nov. 5 in the Chesapeake Room of the Sadler Center. Public tickets will be sold at the door for $10; the event is free for faculty, staff and students. A book signing will be held after his speech.
In addition to his work covering Watergate, Woodward earned accolades for his coverage of the aftermath of 9/11. His articles earned him the National Affairs Pulitzer Prize in 2002.
Woodward, a graduate of Yale University, has authored and co-authored numerous books, including 12 national best-sellers. His latest book, “The Price of Politics,” focuses on how top-level political leaders from both the Republican and Democratic parties tried to restore the country’s economy. The book is based on 18 months of reporting, and drawn from memos, meeting notes, emails and in-depth interviews.
Woodward’s appearance is being sponsored by Alma Mater Productions, the university’s student programming board.
