
Tickets for the general public to see the Dalai Lama speak at The College of William & Mary sold out quickly today.
The tickets went on sale online at Ticket Return at 8 a.m. The Dalai Lama will give a lecture on the virtues of human compassion at 2 p.m. Oct. 10 in the Kaplan Arena.
University spokesman Brian Whitson said approximately 3,000 tickets were sold to the general public in less than 20 minutes. Previously, about 5,200 complimentary tickets were picked up by the W&M community. About 4,400 of those tickets went to students.
The Dalai Lama’s visit is one of several scheduled during his upcoming tour of U.S. colleges and universities. His visit to W&M was organized by the Student Assembly, the student leadership organization at the college.
