YORK COUNTY — York County opens registration Thursday for the fall session of its Gov Series, a multiweek program designed to give residents an inside look at local government operations.
Registration opens at 9 a.m. Thursday. Enrollment is limited to York County residents 18 and older.
The 11-week program covers county history and geography, public safety operations, the court system, economic development, budgeting and other topics. Participants also meet county leaders and learn how to get involved through the county’s boards and commissions.
The fall session begins Sept. 3 and marks the program’s third installment. During the inaugural fall 2025 class and the spring 2026 class, participants met with departments including Administration, Public Safety, Courts and Judicial Services, Community Services, Finance, Planning and Development, and Economic Development, and toured county facilities.
“This is a great way for residents to better understand the work we do and how they can have a voice in our community,” County Administrator Mark Bellamy said.
