WILLIAMSBURG— Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) delivered $2 million to Colonial Behavioral Health in Williamsburg for the development of a new healthcare campus, funding he secured through the Community Project Funding (CPF) appropriations process.
The funds were passed by the House and signed into law on November 12, 2025, as part of the Senate Amendment to H.R. 5371 – Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act of 2026.
“CPFs allow the federal government to invest money in areas that will make the most difference, and this $2 million investment into Colonial Behavioral Health will transform the way they do care, ” said Wittman. “It was an honor to deliver this historic funding for our community, and I look forward to seeing how this will improve the lives of Virginians and ensure quality, comprehensive health services.”
This funding will support Colonial Behavioral Health’s construction of a new integrated care facility to fill the existing gaps in outpatient and primary care. Colonial Behavioral Health is the sole provider of safety net behavioral health services for the uninsured and underinsured in the region and serves more than 3,500 individuals annually. Their new facility will help meet patient demand by improving coordination across healthcare specialties, integrating care, and providing on-site pharmacy services. By expanding access to comprehensive care, Colonial Behavioral Health will improve community health and reduce the burden on emergency services.
