WILLIAMSBURG— It has been a long journey for Celeste Kellogg, but now the musician can celebrate and soak in the moment as her new album has officially been released.

Kellogg, who got her start singing in her church’s children’s choir, began the journey toward making her first album by releasing EP’s of certain singles.

“It has been a long time coming. I started releasing singles in 2021 that at the time, I didn’t know they were going to lead to an album,” Kellogg explained.

Kellogg began writing the songs for the “My Journey” album in 2021. She traveled across the country to record the songs in California, Nashville, and Virginia Beach with three different producers.

“One thing I set out to do when I wanted to release this album was that I wanted to release an album with songs on it that were written 100% by me as a solo writer. When I see these songs resonate with people, both online or at a live show, it means a lot to me because as an artist, a musician, and a songwriter, my goal is just to bring happiness to somebody or to help them through a situation. I want them to come away from my music feeling better than they did when they sat down and started listening,” Kellogg shared.

Songs on the album include emotional ballads and up beat pop star energy. Combining her songwriting talent and love for making music videos, Kellogg shared that she hopes to have a video for every song on the album.

Faith in Freedom, one of the songs on the album, was inspired by her grandfathers.

“I grew up as the granddaughter of two veterans. I’m really proud to be an American. Faith in Freedom really represents those true American values and just of me wanting the country to really have some unity. This is an awesome country and I’m proud to be here and love here,” Kellogg shared.

On March 13, Kellogg hosted a release party for the album at a country music bar in Virginia Beach.

“It was so cool, at the other release parties I’ve had, they were just EP’s so it was maybe five songs. The entire set we did the night of the album release party was like a full show for us. We did a quick little set in the middle of some acoustic country music covers, but the entire show was the full album. To be able to play an hour’s worth of music live that all came from this new CD…it was really cool to celebrate it all with the local, hometown fans and friends,” Kellogg said.

Kellogg says that in the future, she plans to create more music videos and eventually a second album.

“My Journey” is available on all streaming platforms. Vinyls and CD’s can be purchased through Kellogg’s website, celestekellogg.com.
