WILLIAMSBURG — Original paintings, jewelry, notecards, and a plethora of other fine arts and crafts will be on display at Bruton Parish House in Colonial Williamsburg later this month as the Williamsburg Artists Group returns for its fall sale.
The event, to be held on Friday, Oct. 17, 4-8 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., will feature the work of approximately 20 local artists. Refreshments will be served at the show’s opening on Friday.
“WAG is excited to return to Bruton Parish House this fall,” said Laurie Rokutani, one of the group’s leaders. “It’s always fun to talk with people who stop to see our work, whether they are local residents or tourists visiting CW. We work in a variety of styles and mediums, so this is a great opportunity for anyone looking for original art for their home or office to pick up affordable artwork. There will be something for everyone’s taste.”
WAG was established in 2018 as a way for local artists to show their work outside a traditional gallery. Sales at Bruton Parish are usually held at least twice a year. WAG has also exhibited at the Stryker Gallery, part of the Williamsburg Regional Library system, and the Williamsburg Winery, and has had sales several times over the past two years at Busch Gardens.
From this show, WAG says it will donate 10% of its total sales to the Williamsburg Youth Orchestra as a community service.
Bruton Parish House is located at 331 Duke of Gloucester St. WAG can be contacted at Wbgartistsgroup.wag@gmail.com. Artists’ work is showcased on its Facebook page.
