Troy has been here before. He was found as a stray in March of 2018. He spent five months with us before finding a home. Back then, Troy was a nervous but friendly pup. And he was very playful. He was one our “playgroup superstars” who loved to play with all the other dogs.
In May of 2019, we were contacted by another shelter. They told us that Troy had been surrendered to them. Of course we were eager to get him back. Since he came back, he is still a little nervous. He is still friendly. But he is also older, calmer, and less playful. Particularly when it comes to other dogs. He just isn’t as interested in playgroup time. He politely sniffs and then wanders away instead of bouncing around like he used to. Troy just isn’t a puppy anymore. (Although sometimes Faya can get him to bounce around like a puppy again).
We don’t know why his first adoption didn’t work out. For us at Heritage Humane Society, Troy is a great dog. He’s spent enough time growing up in a shelter. It’s time for Troy to be reacquainted with the comforts of home and family.
