The Rotary Club of the Historic Triangle will be hosting its 2nd Annual Williamsburg Pro-AM BBQ Cook Off on Sunday June 30th, 2019, 12:00 PM-4 PM at Jamestown Beach Event Park. This family friendly event allows the best BBQ restaurants and food trucks from Williamsburg and surrounding areas to compete head to head for top brisket, pulled pork, BBQ sides. Last Year’s Grand Champion Old City BBQ seeks to defend its crown against: Two Drummers Smokehouse, Rocco’s Smokehouse, Matchsticks BBQ, and newcomers from Richmond, Jadean’s Smokin’ Six-O and Jus Cukn, and B-52 Smokehouse BBQ from Hampton.
General admission tickets are $40 and include two beers. This year we are proud to offer a VIP ticket for $60 which gets the ticket holder: hour early entry into the event, reserved seating under the tent and a “bottomless” souvenir beer mug entitling the owner to unlimited refills! Kids tickets have been reduced to $5.
New this year will be live entertainment by the classic rock cover band, Full Circle Band of Williamsburg and our very own DJ Rotarian, Liz Daley!
Capitalizing on the fun from last year, we are looking to grow the amateur side of our competition. This competition is for the backyard BBQ enthusiast who wants to see how his or her BBQ matches up against other local smokers. Amateur entrants will set up Saturday evening at the event park and cook their best Pulled Pork, Ribs, and Chicken for private judging by our select panel of judges for cash prizes from a minimum prize purse of $1,000! We are seeking amateur teams to participate and they can sign up at our website www.williamsburgPROAMBBQ.com.
This year, the Rotary Club of the Historic Triangle has selected 3e Restoration (www.3erestoration.org) as the primary beneficiary of our positive proceeds. 3e Restoration is a non-profit founded and based in Williamsburg Virginia and serving locally and nationally which, according to its vision statement, seeks “to break the cycle of homelessness and social displacement through gracious hospitality and systemic change one friend at a time”. Additional proceeds will benefit other local and national Rotary charities.
Adult tickets are $40, include unlimited BBQ samples and 2 beer tickets. VIP tickets are $60. Children 12 and under are just $5.
