Based on the well-loved holiday film, Elf The Musical JR. is the story of Buddy, the Elf and his quest to discover his true identity. The fun, festive musical comes to life on Hampton Roads Academy’s stage Nov. 9, 10, 16 & 17 at 7 p.m.
On the outside it appears to be another typical holiday show, but it is really about learning to be true to yourself and finding joy in simple moments. It is a feel good show with a positive, uplifting message. Based on the New Line Cinema Film written by David Berenbaum, book by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin, music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Chad Beguelin, Elf The Musical JR. will leave the audience feeling warm and fuzzy.
Hampton Roads Academy’s production of Elf The Musical JR. features nearly 30 Middle School students, in grades 5 – 8, who have all had fun finding their inner elf. Continuing the HRA tradition, Upper School students have served as the Assistant Director, Student Directors and Stage Managers.
