Tuesday, August 14, is the final day for the early entry fee to the inaugural Democracy Dash 10K Run at Jamestown Island, scheduled for 7:15 a.m. onSaturday, Aug. 18th. Starting and finishing at the Billsburg Brewery/James City County Marina, the race is the final leg of the Historic Triangle Triple Crown, along with April’s Victory at Yorktown 10K Run and the Williamsburg’s Duke of Gloucester Street Challenge 5K Run.
Enter online at www.RunSignUp.com (the early fee deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, but online signup is open until race morning), in person at Billsburg Brewery, 2054 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg (entry forms are at the taproom, and completed forms can be left there), at the Friday evening packet pickup and late registration (6-8 p.m.) on Jamestown Island, or on site race morning at Billsburg Brewery (starting at 6 a.m.).

All proceeds benefit the Jamestown Rediscovery Foundation to continue archaeological exploration of Jamestown. Pre-race packet pickup and late registration is at Historic Jamestowne Friday, August 17th from 6-8 p.m. and includes special after-hours historic tours of the grounds of Historic Jamestowne. Archaeologists will be there to talk about the latest discoveries, and entrants can enjoy Billsburg Brewery craft beer, and food and refreshments from Carrot Tree Kitchens.
The entry fees are $50 through August 14th, $55 late, and $60 race morning. A special discount is offered for Colonial Road Runners members (contact Rick Platt for specifics). All runners will get an historic-themed race T-shirt and all finishers will receive a special finisher medal. Special Billsburg Brewery-themed race awards go to the top 3 overall men and women, top 3 race walkers male and female, and top 3 in five-year age groups from 14-and-under to 70-and-over.
Parking race morning is at Jamestown Beach Event Park, 2205 Jamestown Road, conveniently directly across the street from the race starting line at the beginning of the Virginia Capital Trail.
