Morgan Cordle, the Head Coach of 757swim, has added to the list of the club’s numerous accolades this year as she was named Virginia Swimming’s Senior Coach of the Year at the organization’s annual banquet at King’s Dominion Theme Park on April 28. Coach Cordletook the reins of the new club just three years ago, and has built the team into a powerhouse in the mid-sized team division of Virginia Swimming. She was nominated and elected as Senior Coach of the Year by her peers within Virginia Swimming. The award came not long after her senior swimmers scored the highest number of points in team history at the Senior Short Course Championship Meet, where swimmers also achieved three top finishes and one Virginia meet record.
“This is an incredible honor that I share with my entire coaching staff, as well as our parents, and most of all, our swimmers. I am blessed with great, coachable kids who work hard and give their very best in every practice and meet they swim in,” said Cordle. “And while awards like this are great, the aspect of our club I am probably most proud of is the phenomenal culture we have established of developing our athletes as people first and foremost, and then as swimmers. We are truly a team in everything we approach, and we focus every day on fulfilling our mission of working together to make everyone better.”
Coach Cordle’s award is only one of the recognitions that 757swim has recently received. The team was named a Bronze Level Club in the Club Excellence Program earlier this year, an honor bestowed by USA Swimming to clubs that meet a set competitive performance
standards, ranking in the top 101 to 200 clubs nationwide. 757swim has also been named a Level 2 Club in USA Swimming’s Club Recognition Program, a voluntary program that recognizes clubs that demonstrate a commitment to long-term club growth, development and stability. Clubs must meet defined standards of business and organizational success, parent and volunteer development, coach development and education, and athlete development and performance.
757swim offers a competitive swim team experience in the Historic Triangle to swimmers 6&up through its Copper, Bronze, Silver, Senior, and Gold swim groups.
