Saddle up this spring for Bridles & Boots benefiting Dream Catchers at the Cori Sikich Therapeutic Riding Center. This annual event, a favorite on the Williamsburg social calendar, is being held Saturday, May 19, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Dream Catchers in Toano.
Springtime is marked with newness and the nonprofit’s largest annual fundraiser announces its new title sponsor, Spain Commercial Inc. Accustomed to making dreams come true as a general contractor for new homes and businesses, Yorktown-based Spain Commercial is leading the evening with its $7,500 sponsorship.
Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is the student spotlight sponsor. As a leader of Safe Kids Historic Triangle Williamsburg, at this year’s Bridles & Boots, Sentara is unveiling a fresh approach to assist in keeping students safe. The series of Safe Kids banners includes “Always Wear a Helmet,” “Never Wrap Your Lead Around Your Hand,” and “Stop/Look/Listen.”
TowneBank, an event sponsor since 2009, also continues its steadfast commitment for the fifth year by donating $5,000 as the auction sponsor. New to the event, David A. Nice Builders, Inc. just signed on as the $5,000 video sponsor. Bridles & Boots has also received a $25,000 challenge match sponsor for the evening. If the event raises $25,000 in Dream Rider Scholarships, it will be generously matched.
Funds raised through Bridles & Boots help keep lesson fees affordable for children and adults with special needs who benefit from the equine-assisted activities and therapies at Dream Catchers. Additionally, the Dream Rider Scholarships generated during the paddle raise opportunity during the evening’s live auction fund scholarships all year long. The nonprofit’s compassionate community provides a variety of life-changing services for participants ages four to over 100 with a team of 11 horses and more than 17,500 volunteer hours each year. Dream Catchers conducts 100 sessions weekly to children and adults with one or more of 150 special needs.
Attendees are encouraged to leave their heels at home and opt for their finest boots. The evening begins with a cocktail reception including the five student spotlights, barn tours, and a special showing of The Preakness on jumbo screens. Following that, attendees will enjoy an elegant seated buffet dinner by The Catering Company and the event’s signature live auction. Guests will have a chance to bid on exciting packages including an exclusive getaway to one of the Caribbean’s most-awarded resorts, Nisbet Plantation Beach Club on Nevis, a Washington Redskins package including two tickets with pre-game field passes and post-game meets and greets with players, a three-night trip including airfare to Nashville to experience the heart and soul of country music, a horse lover’s dream vacation to Rancho Las Cascadas in Mexico, a grand vacation at the Greenbrier Resort and a host of wine and dining experiences. Ernie Rogers with Black Tie Benefit Auctions, LLC, will be the auctioneer for the evening.
Bridles & Boots sells out every year. Tickets are still available for $100 each along with sponsorship opportunities.
