Crime Prevention Seminars in Williamsburg

On 04 October, a crime-prevention seminar was hosted at Colonial Heritage for everyone in the local community.

Although small, the audience represented residents of Colonial Heritage, the JCC Fire & EMS services, and Williamsburg residents as well.  The cost was free although donations were sought for the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

As the rate of violent crime both nationwide and in the local area has increased over the past two years, the topics included identifying criminal behavior, discussing the Virginia laws that govern those who defend themselves, and the range of simple, everyday choices we can take to avoid being a crime victim.

The speaker was an experienced instructor and federal retiree who teaches personal safety and security techniques to private industry.

If you have any questions or interest in the next presentation of this seminar, please call 757-678-2179.
