For its investment in York County, Pritchard & Miller Real Estate Development received the 2016 William Rogers “Poor Potter” Award.
The company received the award during the York County Economic Development Authority’s Distinguished Business Affair on Feb. 11 at the Victory Center Museum in Yorktown.
The “Poor Potter” Award is given annually by the EDA and Office of Economic Development to honor the most significant economic development project of the year. Pritchard & Miller Real Estate was recognized for its work with the Nelson’s Grant mixed-use development.
Nelson’s Grant, the county’s first mixed-use development, will ultimately have more than 18,000 square feet of commercial space and is currently occupied by Sentara, Subway and Great Clips. in the Fort Eustis Boulevard and Route 17 quadrant.
Additionally, Nelson’s Grant will contain 104 homes, comprised of townhouses and condominiums, sidewalks, rear entry garages and community spaces.
Also earning an award during the EDA’s Distinguished Business Affair were Gail and Randy Stathers, the owners of Home Helpers in York County.
President of the York County Chamber of Commerce Tim Meyer awarded Home Helpers, which offers home care services, companion care, elderly care and respite care, the Chamber’s “Pete Sterrett” Small Business of the Year Award.
More than 100 York County business representatives were present during the EDA’s Distinguished Business Affair.
