JCC Police Still Searching for Local Man who Cut Off Ankle Monitor

JAMES CITY— James City County Police are actively searching for Kevin Lavaughn Christian, also known as Kelvin and “Squirrel,” after he removed his court‑ordered ankle monitor and fled supervision. Christian, 50, is a registered sex offender and is currently wanted for a probation violation related to the removal of his monitoring device, as well as petit larceny.

Information obtained during the investigation indicates that Christian has made statements suggesting he would rather harm himself than return to jail. He has also reportedly claimed he intends to commit robberies and engage in a violent confrontation with police. Due to these statements and his prior interactions with law enforcement, he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Christian is described as a Black male with black hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 5’6” tall and weighs 205 pounds. He is known to frequent the areas of Chickahominy Road, Burnt Ordinary, and Lafayette Square, and may be in the company of a female companion. His last known address was in the 2500 block of Little Creek Dam Road. The date of his most recent photograph is unknown.

Christian is known to flee from law enforcement, and the public is urged not to approach him. He is also known to go to great lengths to evade police, including using disguises such as women’s clothing and wigs.
