Firefighters Extinguish Amazon Delivery Van Fire in York County’s Dare Community

Firefighters responded to the Dare community in York County late Saturday morning after an Amazon delivery van caught fire in a driveway. The fire was extinguished and there were no injuries. (York County Fire and Life Safety)

DARE — Firefighters responded to the Dare community in York County late Saturday morning after an Amazon delivery van caught fire in a driveway.

According to officials, just after 11:30 a.m., personnel from the York County Department of Fire and Life Safety were dispatched to a fire in the 800 block of Dare Road in the Dare community.

Crews arrived to find an Amazon delivery van on fire in a driveway. Firefighters extinguished the fire at approximately 12:45 p.m. Multiple fire apparatus responded to assist with the incident, according to officials, and the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office secured the area and provided traffic control.

The house on the property was not affected by the fire; however, the driveway received minor damage, officials said.

There were no injuries reported.
