TABB — The York County Department of Fire and Life Safety responded to a garage fire in the Tabb area of York County Sunday afternoon.
According to officials, personnel were dispatched to a reported garage fire at a residence in the 100 block of Chanticlair Drive in the Tabb area of the county at approximately 1:20 p.m. Jan. 4.
On arrival, personnel observed smoke coming from the garage, fire officials said. Crews entered the garage and encountered an active fire, which was quickly extinguished. Damage was confined to the garage, and the attached residence was not affected, according to officials.
There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Assistance was provided by Langley AFB Fire Department, Poquoson Fire and Rescue, and Newport News Fire Department.
