
JAMES CITY COUNTY — Four teens were arrested in the 8300 block of York River Park Road in James City County Friday morning in connection with an ongoing York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office investigation.
According to the James City County Police Department, at approximately 9:30 a.m. Dec. 12, it assisted York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Deputies with the execution of a search warrant in connection with the ongoing YPSO investigation.
As a result of the search warrant, JCCPD said it arrested and charged four males located at the residence with possession of a firearm that was equipped with a machine gun conversion device. Two of the males are juveniles, it added, who have also been charged with possession of a firearm by a minor.
The individuals charged are:
- Joseph Roy Morrisette, 19, of the 600 block of Plain View Lane in Shacklefords
- Deavonte Mikel Tyler, 18, of the 7900 block of Lynn Circle in Toano
- A 17-year-old male from James City County
- A 16-year-old male from James City County
Morrisette and Tyler are in custody at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail, while the two juveniles are being held at the Merrimac Detention Facility, officials said.
Police said the execution of the search warrant was supported by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms agents and their K-9 team.
The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Department investigation is ongoing.
