
WILLIAMSBURG — Virginia State Police said on Sunday it was investigating a possible hit-and-run crash involving an individual operating a scooter on Page Street near the intersection of York Street in Williamsburg.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:14 p.m. Aug. 24. VSP said its preliminary investigation indicates the 40-year-old male scooter operator was possibly struck by a vehicle that may have left the scene.
The scooter operator was seriously injured and airlifted to Richmond.
The Virginia State Police Crash Reconstruction Team is assisting with the ongoing investigation, according to officials, and as of Sunday evening, no further details about the suspect vehicle or direction of travel were available.
