JAMES CITY COUNTY — Residents of James City County now have more options to dispose of their leaves.
From Nov. 13-21, 2021 as well as Jan. 8-16, 2022, County residents can take their leaves to the Jolly Pond Road Convenience Center, located at 1204 Jolly Pond Rd. Williamsburg, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Leaves must be in clear bags that are no more than 40 gallons. James City County notes that leaves from commercial lawn services companies will not be accepted.
Additionally, limbs, grass and brush will not be accepted during these free collection periods. The County notes that the charge for these items would be determined at drop off.
Outside of these dates, leaves must be self-hauled and paid for drop-off using coupons available online or from the Treasurer’s Office, Satellite Office, Freedom Park, the James City County Recreation Center and the Abram Frink, Jr. Community Center. A one coupon charge is $4 and will cover four lawn- and leaf-sized bags. Coupons can be found online by clicking here.
James City County also provides year-round curbside leaf collection for residents. The dates are as follows:
- Dec. 1-8, Roberts/Berkeley
- Dec. 8-15, Jamestown/South Powhatan
- Dec. 15-17, Stonehouse/North Powhatan
