
Country singer Michael Ray will headline Yorktown’s Victory Weekend with a concert Oct. 16 at Riverwalk Landing, marking the 1781 Siege of Yorktown.
Ray has recorded four No. 1 country singles — “Think a Little Less,” “Whiskey and Rain,” “Kiss You in the Morning” and “One That Got Away” — and has performed at the Grand Ole Opry 73 times. His streaming totals exceed 2 billion, according to event organizers.
The show starts at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, with gates opening at 6 p.m. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21: $15 for general admission, $25 for VIP.
General admission includes lawn seating at Riverwalk Landing. VIP adds early entry at 5:30 p.m., lawn seating near the stage, access to a beer and wine garden, and a gift.
The concert is not recommended for children, and pets aren’t permitted except for service animals. Free parking is available at York Hall, the York-Poquoson Courthouse, the County Administration Building, the Riverwalk Landing Parking Terrace, the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown and other nearby lots.
Victory Weekend, part of the run-up to the 250th anniversary of the Yorktown victory in 2031. also includes the Victory Market, Revolutionary War demonstrations and programs at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown and a wreath-laying ceremony at the Victory Monument, a parade and other events tied to the 1781 campaign.
