JAMES CITY COUNTY — A 57-year-old motorcyclist was killed early Sunday in a crash on Riverview Road, and a 16-year-old James City County driver is facing multiple charges, including DUI manslaughter, police said.
The victim was identified as Gilbert Andrea Allen of Falls Church. According to James City County Police, Allen, who was wearing a helmet, was struck by a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction while riding a motorcycle in the 5800 block of Riverview Road at about 5:56 a.m.
Allen was transported to Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
After consulting with the Commonwealth’s Attorney, police charged the 16-year-old driver with DUI manslaughter, DUI, unauthorized use of a vehicle, driving after illegally consuming alcohol while under 21, underage possession of alcohol, reckless driving and failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
The driver was not injured and remains in police custody.
