WILLIAMSBURG — The SpiritWorks Foundation Center for the Soul will host its seventh annual Holiday Craft Fair Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Founded two decades ago, SpiritWorks has become a cornerstone of hope and healing for individuals and families affected by addiction and trauma. With locations in both Williamsburg and Warrenton, the nonprofit’s mission remains at the heart of every event it hosts.
“Our mission is to disrupt the intergenerational cycle of addiction in families by educating, equipping, empowering, and celebrating individuals, families, faith leaders, and communities on the journey to recovery and beyond,” said the SpiritWorks team.
The idea for the Holiday Craft Fair began eight years ago, when a few longtime supporters suggested hosting a small community event on SpiritWorks’ field. What started modestly quickly became a seasonal tradition, and a highlight of the year for many local artisans and attendees.
“We have vendors who have been with us since the beginning,” organizers said. “And we welcome new vendors each year as well.”
Returning favorites include Grandma’s Hot Chocolate and Spiced Tea mix, along with familiar names like Tupperware, Scentsy and Pampered Chef.
New this year are two SpiritWorks initiatives — The Love Principles 2.0 and The Love Project — both designed to strengthen community connection and support recovery. Visitors can stop by SpiritWorks’ own booth to learn more about these efforts, explore recovery resources, and browse “got recovery?” gear and Thistle Farms products such as candles, soaps and creams.
“The fair at SpiritWorks is a vital extension of our mission by fostering community connections and promoting awareness about recovery.” The team shared. “It invites community members to engage with individuals in recovery, breaking down stereotypes and increasing awareness of the services we offer.”
No holiday fair would be complete without good food and festive fun. Manley Creations LLC will be grilling burgers, hot dogs and chicken wings, with lunch plates priced from $7 to $10, including chips, a drink and dessert.
Guests can also try their luck in the Shopper’s Delight Raffle, where a $5 ticket, or five for $20, enters them to win a basket of local gift cards valued at over $1,000. For the first time, the fair will also include a cake walk, offering participants the chance to win a homemade cake, pie or seasonal treat.
Proceeds from vendor fees, SpiritWorks’ booth sales, and the raffle directly benefit the organization’s programs for individuals and families seeking recovery. For organizers, the event’s success is measured not only in attendance but in the connections it creates.
“It is all about tradition, community, passion, talent, and hopefully some fundraising,” the team said. “We hope people leave with a heart full of gratitude for recovery, for helpers, for artists, crafters, bakers, and grillers, and an opportunity to find the perfect gift.”
SpiritWorks hopes to see the Holiday Craft Fair continue to grow in the years ahead, serving as both a fundraiser and a symbol of community connection.
“We would love to see the fair continue to be a place where the recovery community and the greater community come together in fellowship and celebration of fall, food, and fun,” they added.
