WILLIAMSBURG — Construction is complete and Williamsburg’s Chicken Salad Chick location will celebrate its grand opening the week of May 27.

Chicken Salad Chick is a chain founded in 2008 by Stacy and Kevin Brown in Auburn, Alabama. It describes itself as the nation’s only fast-casual restaurant concept dedicated exclusively to freshly made chicken salad, offering a variety of flavors made from scratch daily, along with sandwiches, sides, soups and desserts.

The location in Williamsburg is the fourth for franchise owner Melissa Holt, with sister locations in Hampton, Norfolk and Chesapeake. The store in Williamsburg is located in Settlers Market at 4640 Casey Blvd. at the former location of the Mooyah Burgers restaurant.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to continue growing Chicken Salad Chick here in my home state of Virginia,” said Holt. “I love being able to share the brand’s mission while serving up the best chicken salad around!”

A week of events will celebrate the new location’s opening.

  • On May 27, the first guest in line at 10 a.m. will receive one free large Quick Chick of chicken salad per week for an entire year. The next 99 guests in line will receive one large Quick Chick of chicken salad per month for a year.
  • On May 28, the first 50 guests to visit the location and make a purchase will earn a free tumbler.
  • On May 29, the first 50 guests to purchase a Chick Trio can earn a free golf ball and golf towel.
  • On May 30, the first 50 guests to purchase a Chick Trio will receive a free tote bag
  • On May 31, the first 50 guests to purchase a Chick Trio will receive a free scoop card for a future visit

All guests must be 16 and over to win.

Additionally, as part of its pre-opening Friends & Family events, the Williamsburg restaurant is supporting FISH, the nonprofit that provides food, clothing and small housewares to people in need who live in Williamsburg, James City County and York County.

Normal business hours will be Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The restaurant has set up a Facebook event page with more information on the grand opening festivities.
