WILLIAMSBURG — The William & Mary Student Assembly will host a Williamsburg City Council Candidate Forum Monday, Oct. 14 at 5 p.m. in the Sadler Commonwealth Auditorium.

According to the organizers, all five city council candidates will be in attendance. The forum will be moderated by Vice President Oscar Lazo and Chair of the Senate Hazel Vineet.

Additionally, the Student Assembly is taking questions in advance online.

“The questions we will be asking the candidates will be centered around the student experience and the City Council’s role in supporting student activities in the City of Williamsburg,” Lazo explained.

The forum will conclude at 6:15 with a 45-minute reception to follow for community members to ask questions one-on-one in the Sadler Center’s Atrium, directly outside of the Commonwealth Auditorium, he added.

Three seats are open on the council. Incumbents Pat Dent and Barbara Ramsey are defending their seats. Challengers are Fraser Hudgins, Lindsay Barna and Ayanna Williams. Current councilmember Caleb Rogers chose not to run for reelection.
