YORKTOWN — The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation will host a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on Tuesday, June 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown.
Space will be made available in the museum’s education wing classrooms to host the blood drive, the foundation said.
The foundation notes that according to the American Red Cross, blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors. With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished. Donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative and B negative.
The American Revolution Museum at Yorktown is located at 200 Water Street in Yorktown near the Colonial Parkway. Those who wish to make an appointment to donate or need additional information should call 757-253-5549 or sign up online at redcrossblood.org with the sponsor code “JAMESTOWN.”
The American Revolution Museum at Yorktown is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. For more information about the museum, call 757-253-4838 or visit jyfmuseums.org.
